May 2012!

Because I've gotten very far behind on my blog, I'm going to sum up the highlights of each month by doing a post for each remaining month in 2012 starting with May. Over Mother's Day weekend, Jude and Channing had a special visit with their cousins on the Walker side of our family, Kylie and Walker. At that time, Kylie was 6 years old and Walker was 3.5 years old. All of the cousins had a great time with their Grandma Bonnie having a picnic at Pullen Park, riding the beloved Pullen Park train, and the little boats too! They also enjoyed running around and playing on all of the newly renovated playgrounds at Pullen Park. We also enjoyed a Mother's Day visit with Jude and Channing's cousins on the Haseman side of our family, Dallas and Jesse. At that time, Dallas was 11 years old and Jesse was 8 years old. Jude is always so excited to visit with his older cousins and they seem to enjoy his company as well. Here are a few pictures from Mother's Day 2012 with the Haseman grandchildren:

Another highlight of our May 2012 was a visit from my Uncle Mike! Uncle Mike is my dad's youngest brother and lives in Arizona. We don't get to visit with him very often, so this was Uncle Mike's first time meeting Jude and Channing. Jude was very excited to meet "Papa's brother." Jude's 2nd birthday also occurred in May 2012, but I plan to do a separate blog post on that... Following Jude's birthday, we made a quick trip to Wilmington, NC to celebrate the life of Ian's Grandpa Walker, who had passed away earlier that week. During our stay in Wilmington, we visited with Ian's Uncle David and Aunt Pasty, Ian's cousin, David, and his wife and daughter, and Ian's Uncle Paul. It was a nice visit and equally as nice to learn more about The Walkers and Ian's Grandpa, Dan Walker, Sr. We had some down time while we were in Wilmington, so we thought it would be a good idea to take Jude and Channing to do something fun, a trip to the Aquarium! Channing turned 6 months old on May 16, 2012! At 6 months old, Channing weighed 12 lbs, 9 oz (3rd percentile) and was 23.25 inches tall (3rd percentile). Our girl is tiny! One milestone that we crossed with Channing when she was 6 months old was feeding her her first solid food! Channing's first solid food was a mashed up banana and she seemed a little perplexed about the whole experience. Here's a few pictures of our little CC eating solid food for the first time:

Another first that Channing experienced in May 2012 when she was six months old was her first time swimming! Our swim club, Lake Park Swim Club, opened for the season at the end of May 2012 and we joined family and friends down at the pool! Here's a picture of Channing's first time swimming:

With the exception of Jude's 2nd birthday (which will be in a separate post), that about sums up our month of May 2012!
