A Visit With Friends

Today was a good day.  My college room mate, Julie, and her boyfriend, Drew, came to visit!  It had rained this morning, but the sun came out later in the day so we decided to spend some time at Pullen Park.  Jude spent most of the time there playing and talking about the train.  We watched Jude ride the little boat ride and we all rode the train and the carousal too.  Here are some pictures from our day:

After our Pullen Park adventure we had plans to eat at The Pit but when we got there we found out there was a two hour wait time for a table and we knew that Jude and Channing wouldn't do well waiting that long.  Instead we ate at Cameron Bar and Grill in Cameron Village and the food was great.  I'm so glad our friends came for a visit and as always, we hope to see them again soon!

Four Months Old!

Little Channing Charlton is now 4 months old!  She went to the doctor for her 4 month well check last week and here are her stats:  10 lbs., 13 oz. (5th percentile) and 23in. long (10th percentile).  Our girl is tiny but healthy and her growth is right on track.  Channing reached a new milestone about a week ago, rolling over from back to tummy!  She has only done it a hand full of times and I have yet to actually see her do it.  Channing is breastfed at home and drinks bottles of breast milk at school (and I also go to the daycare during my lunch break and breastfeed her there everyday too).  She currently drinks 6 oz. bottles of breast milk for each feeding at school and eats every 3-4 hours.  Channing has been sleeping through the night since she was 5 weeks old, but that was in our bedroom in a pack-n-play.  Last week we moved her from sleeping in our room to sleeping in her own room in her crib.  Due to this change, she is now waking up once or twice during the night to feed.  I'm hoping that within a few weeks she'll be back to sleeping through the night.  When our little C.C. (Channing Charlton) is awake, she is very alert and loves to make eye contact and smile at everyone.  Being acknowledged is very important to C.C. and she thrives on her interactions with others. Channing has found her feet and loves to pull them up and sometimes puts them in her mouth.  Here's a video clip of our sweet pea at 4 months old:

Arts & Crafts

We have had a very laid back weekend in the Walker household.  Today we thought it would be fun to pull out some paint and paper and do some arts and crafts as a family.  Here are our completed projects:

Puzzle!

Over the weekend we bought Jude a new puzzle from this neat General Store near our house.  I thought it would help him to learn his shapes and colors and would also trigger him to use problem solving skills.  Tonight Ian and I sat down with Jude and introduced the puzzle.  I am one proud mommy- Jude completed the puzzle all by himself on the first try!!  As he would fit a puzzle piece into the correct spot, Ian and I would say "Yay!" to him and clap and after a few times of this, Jude would say "Yay!" for  himself when he would fit a puzzle piece into it's spot.  Here's a picture of Jude and his puzzle:
I am so proud of him!  What a smart little guy!
