Grandpa Bostick

This past Friday was a very sad day, as our beloved Grandpa Bostick (Ian's grandpa/Jude's great grandpa) passed away at the age of 89.  We loved and will always cherish the memories of our weekly visits with Grandpa.  Ian and I feel very blessed that he was able to not only meet but really enjoy visits with our first born.  Grandpa Bostick was a Methodist minister and performed our wedding ceremony in November 2008.
Joe Bostick was a devoted family man who had a wonderful sense of humor and entertained others with his stories.  Grandpa loved his visits with Jude and Jude always seemed equally excited to play with Grandpa and show him whatever new skill he had learned that week.  Below are some pictures of Jude and his Great Grandpa Bostick:

We will truly miss our Grandpa Bostick and will always think of him with fond memories.  I'll end this post with the last two verses of a poem that is very special to me:
Let Me Go
(Author Unknown)
There may be times you miss me,
I sort of hope you do,
But smile when you think of me,
For I'll be waiting for you.

Now there's many things for you to do,
And lots of ways to grow,
So get busy, be happy, and live your life,
Miss me, but let me go.

Walking Shoes

I bought Jude his first pair of walking shoes from Stride Rite this week!  At first he was adamant that he was not going to wear them, but I think he's getting used to the idea of them now.  Here's a few pictures of Jude and his new shoes:
In other news, Jude went for his 15 month check-up at the doctor this week and his weight is 23 lbs. (40%) and height is 30 in. (20%).  Jude currently has 3 teeth (2 on the top, 1 on the bottom).  Jude is healthy and growing normally in every way!  Jude had another first this week too - he learned how to drink from a straw!!  I've been trying to teach him to drink from a straw for months now and it just finally clicked and he figured it out!  We were both pretty excited and he loves drinking mommy's water out of a straw now.  I'll end this post with a few more pictures of Jude and his new shoes:

Back Yard Swimming

Today was a fairly hot day and we had nothing planned to do, so after Jude's afternoon nap we decided to fill up his baby pool and let him do a little skinny dipping on our new back deck!

Jude played in the pool for a little while and then figured out that he could climb out of the pool and walk around on the deck- once he figured this out, keeping him in the pool was next to impossible!!  Ha Ha!   I love to watch Jude explore his world, learn new things, and discover his ability to be more and more independent every day.

25 Weeks!

I am 25 weeks pregnant with Baby Walker #2!  We've been having a hard time thinking of baby girl names that we love, but we've still got a little bit of time left before she'll arrive.  My pregnancy is going well so far and I've been feeling great.  Here's a picture of me today:

And here's a picture of me back in February 2010 when I was 25 weeks pregnant with Jude:

Our baby girl will be here sometime within the next 15 weeks and we can't wait to meet her and welcome her to the Walker family!
