Independence Day

We've had a busy 4th of July weekend!  On Sunday we celebrated Jude's Great Grandpa Bostick's (Ian's grandpa) 89th birthday at Kemp's Seafood Restaurant in Durham with family and friends.  Jude tried his first taste of shrimp and didn't seem to have much of a reaction to it (neither positive or negative). 

We visit Jude's Great Grandparents weekly, so Jude knows them well and loves them.  Here's a picture of Jude with the "Birthday Grandpa!":

When Jude got bored/restless at the restaurant, he had fun walking around with his Great Uncle Kent!  Here's a picture of Jude and Kent - I think that Kent had just as much fun playing with Jude as Jude did with him:

Today we celebrated Independence Day by participating in the Pig Pickin' at our swim club with family and our Lake Park friends.  We all love swimming and BBQ, so it's a great combination!  Here's some pictures of Jude playing in the baby pool:

Jude's oldest cousin, Dallas (my brother's 10 yr old son), is pretty fond of him and Jude always seems really interested in watching whatever Dallas is doing.  I'm so glad Jude has cousins who he knows and loves and spends time with on a regular basis.  Here a picture of the two of them playing together in the pool:

After swimming, Jude enjoyed some BBQ, potatoes, and hush puppies along with both of his grandmas.  I think Jude will treasure this time he has spent with his grandparents.  I know I treasure this special time!  Here's a picture of Jude with both of his grandmas:
